Solomon's Secret is just what it says; it is Solomon's song. It is a prophetic work and a personal tribute. He tells a story that on the surface appears to be simply a statement of love between a Shepherd Boy and a Shulamite girl. Because he was a man of tremendous intellect and wisdom, he uses the medium of a story to offer to God his own heart. This Song, which belongs to Solomon, will be one among millions of Song, both written and to be written. Every believer will have his own version as his own life unfolds and enfolds with the life of Jesus. In heaven, Revelation states, there will be a new song sung to the Lamb. That song may be a combined chorus of identical words and phrases, or one penned by each believer. However it is to be sung, it will be a song of the Bride to the Bridegroom. It will be personal. It will be filled with meaning that only the two who have been made "one" will understand. This song will reflect the experiences of grace and love known only to them both. Jesus and His bride will sing to each other. Unique as it may sound, this book houses just such a song. It is a song from the bride to her lover and from her lover to her. It is a dialogue. This pioneering study reviews primary, secondary, and tertiary aspects of the Song of Solomon's message. It highlights the two main characters of the drama and focuses upon their language usages. Having a clear concept of the book's structure, Dr. Oliver carries the reader to several conclusions which are not to be found in any other work. Pinpointing the validity of this text for the Twenty-first Century is noted by its users. Bible schools, study groups, churches, and theological schools are using this book as an adjunct for Old Testament Biblical studies. The book has literally circled the earth. ISBN 1-931898-05-7 $14.95 (US Dollars Retail) Now available in both English and Spanish The Song unveils many mysteries about God's character. One that impresses me the most is found in verse 1:2, which says, "Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth...." The book, Solomon's Secret by C. R. Oliver expresses this idea better than anything I have ever heard or read. I strongly recommend this book (ISBN # 0-931221-08-0). International School of the Bible, www.isob-bible.org I know that what Dr. Oliver has written comes our of many years of study of the Song of Solomon -- and much time with the Lord, where He has revealed Himself in its pages. I have also spent a lot of time over the years in that book -- and the Lord is using Solomon's Secret to take me to a "new Level" of understanding of myself, of Him, of my relationship with Him and where He desires to bring me. The book is so "rich" with nuggets to meditate on that I have been using it for a few months in my devotional time with the Lord. I have also enjoyed it so much that I have ordered some extra books to pass on to others whom I knew would love it just as much. I have given a copy to my pastor, and she loves it so much that she is sharing nuggets from it at our Wednesday prayer meeting, and now she wants to give copies out to other members of our fellowship. Reviewer: A. D., N.J. I have read many Song of Solomon books but this is the first one that touched me in such a profound way that I was totally in love with my Bridegroom (King of Kings) all over again. Many women do not feel worthy, but I tell you, once you've read this book, you will feel loved and cherished like no way before. Reviewer: Amazon reader I was interested in a commentary on The Song, but I received something more. C.R. Oliver's interpretation of the Song is so profound. Each page brings you closer to knowing the Lord in a more personal way. It is a must read for any serious and growing Bible believer who loves the Lord. You will gain deeper insights and your walk will be closer and sweeter. Please take time to enjoy this amazing book and fellowship with our Lord as you read this amazing book. Reviewer: JH Dr. Oliver is a gifted teacher of the word of God only!!!! What he teaches has been "revealed" to him, it is not knowledge. Reviewer: SD |
